Great dinner spot in Kona, with an excellent location and solid food. It will take a big bite out of your wallet though. My recommendation would be to make a reservation, as we did not and had to wait about 20-30 minutes to be seated. Anyways, the food was quite good! We shared the clam chowder (which came in a cool vessel) to start. Then, I had the fish and chips, which was a well-done rendition on a classic dish. As a fun touch, the fries came in a miniature fryer basket. Other dishes include the sanddabs, a local fish, the coconut shrimp, and the seafood pasta. For dessert, the lilikoi chocolate cake was excellent. I recommend the Fish Hopper to anyone in the area.

Right-on! Throwback decor a bit dated but wonderful breakfast spot. Great harbor view. Bloody Mary dressed in shrimp and bacon was almost its own meal. Service was very good. Loco Moco just right gravy to fat burger to rice to egg ratio! Sweet bread French toast plentiful cooked perfect.

Beat out Lava Java for best breakfast this trip. The Dungeness crab Benedict was amazing. The English muffin out-edged LJ's croissant. And the crab, oh my! Plentiful and fresh and not water logged. Hubs combo brekkie was all eaten!

Was happily surprised at both the service and food at this fish hopper restaurant. Typically, chain restaurants aren't that good, but this place was really good. This is an open air restaurant that over looks the Kona pier. We got the poke nachos for an appetizer. It says it is an "award winner"... was skeptical, but a definitely a winner! I got the monkfish- so good! Fish was moist and cooked perfectly! Cheesecake was also very good. Our entire experience was great! We will be coming back!

Great food service and view! We had Jarmyn and Heather and Vinnie and all out of this world!

Amazing happy hour! Would definitely come again. Great service. Great views. Beautiful spot to have a few drinks before checking out the town.

here is little parking. Service was great. Food was average I was content . I had the steak and egg breakfast It was fine. I ended up parking over by pier mind you only one handicap parking stall

Came in at 1045am, the remaining breakfast crowd, by 1110, there was a large line for lunch. Lunch menu starts at 11am. The loco moco was decent. Recommend asking for extra gravy. The egg was nice and orange in the center. The eggs Benedict with potatoes and veggies were great. We'd like a few more pieces of potatoes. The downside of our dishes was that the food was not served hot. It was likely sitting because the gravies were coagulated. Service was a bit slow. It took awhile to get our food and then it took awhile to get hot sauce and the check. Free parking in the back. Nice view of the ocean.

Came here for a late lunch on a Thursday afternoon (on the way to Outrigger Resort after landing at KOA). Good experience! We all wanted to try the award winning/Yelp raved Clam Chowder, but the waitress confirmed it's a pretty heavy dish as the base is 3 types of cream. Sesame Crusted Ahi & Coconut Prawns Salad: One person in my party with a pretty seasoned palette claimed the Ahi was the best he's EVER had. But the sweet chili vinaigrette was too spicy so next time he'd hold it. Big Island Tacos: "They were OK. Fries were fine. Nothing crazy." Blackened Shrimp Salad Special: I loved this, only complaint was .. too much dressing. Gluten free tip -- The online menu has a whole GF section that the print menu did not highlight very well. Ocean view was nice. Parking lot in the back.
